Backup & Recovery
TorrinPass automatically backs up your encrypted passwords to the cloud. Here’s how backup and recovery work.
Automatic Backup

- Encrypted data syncs to Firebase Firestore
- Available on all your iOS devices
What’s Backed Up
Section titled “What’s Backed Up”- ✅ All passwords (encrypted)
- ✅ 2FA secrets (encrypted)
- ✅ Notes (encrypted)
- ✅ Tags and favorites
- ✅ Account settings
What’s NOT Backed Up
Section titled “What’s NOT Backed Up”- ❌ Your master password (only you know it)
- ❌ Your encryption keys (derived from master password)
Recovery Scenarios
Section titled “Recovery Scenarios”New Device, Same Account
Section titled “New Device, Same Account”- Install TorrinPass on new device
- Sign in with your email
- Enter your master password
- All passwords sync automatically
Forgot Master Password
Section titled “Forgot Master Password”If you forgot your master password:
- Your encrypted data cannot be decrypted
- You’ll need to create a new account
- Re-add passwords manually or from other sources
Prevention: Write down your master password and store it in a safe place.
Lost Device
Section titled “Lost Device”- Your data is safe (encrypted)
- Sign in on a new device
- Consider changing passwords for sensitive accounts
- Use Find My iPhone to remotely wipe the lost device
Best Practices

Section titled “Protect Your Master Password”- Memorize it — Practice until it’s automatic
- Write it down — Store in a safe or safety deposit box
- Don’t share it — Not even with TorrinPass support
Enable Biometrics
